Ah, me boys...

I believe the federal tories are finally mad.

They are not acting like they have over the last three months when the liberals would kindly wipe their feet on them before entering the chamber. Peter MacKay is comparing them to a Chianti drinking, liver eating deceptor and I think I heard Jay Hill say "ass" before leaving the gaggle of microphones before his mug.

Wow. It's about time. Stopping to sort out all the events of the last months in the brain can stop a guy from chewing gum at the same time. I won't go into painful detail (hell, even regular painless detail is too hard to deal with) here but the amount of opportunities for the tories to strike and leave a mark have been staggering. So why with all the opportunity come and gone to cut into the liberals does it look like they just finished a weekend at the spa with a parting shot of botox?

Harper? The voice of the people? Harper? The shifty-eyed paige in question period? Harper?

I do not want to bash the man here. I want to understand. I want to hear that the apparent drifting is all part of a larger Ocean's 13 finally that has the liberals rewinding to find out when they had the knife inserted. That time is not going to come. I don't agree with all the left-media (CBC, Macleans, etc) negativity towards Harper without asking him the why question or having the desire to understand the why themselves.

Do we need someone to take a lead role, in front of and behind the media? Yes. We need to become the right of centre party again and not be scared to tell people that two-tiered medicine is not exported from hell, that taxes and federal money shuffling to causes of their choice is sufficating.

They need to reach down inside of them and turn the anger they have into action. The action being a rediscovery of the values the party is based on. If it costs them seats, so be it. If it costs them their true values that is when the liberal idealists have won.
